Policies / Forms

Admission and Discharge Policy:

An interview will be arranged to familiarize you and your child with the philosophy and surroundings, as well as to answer any questions you may have.  You will be provided with an admission package once the registration fee is paid.

A non-refundable registration fee of $100 is required at the time of acceptance as well as 1/2 of monthly fees ($300 - non-refundable).  The $300.00 (1/2 months fees) will be applied to the last month of enrollment provided we receive 4 weeks written notice when withdrawing your child from Adventureland Daycare.

An admission package must be completed for every child. This package will include child profile, consent forms for emergency care and transportation, permission to leave the premises for daily walks and outings. It is important that we have all current information in case of an emergency.

Child files will be updated each year to ensure contact information is correct. Please notify the staff of any changes as they occur.  Parents will also sign a permission note for application of sun screen or bug repellent.  For the first few days you are encouraged to stay with your child at the beginning of each day to reassure him or her and minimize fears until you and your child become more comfortable.

4 weeks written notice of permanent withdrawal must be provided.  If notice is not received, full monthly fees will be charged.  A permanent space cannot be guaranteed if you wish to temporarily withdraw your child.  Therefore, your child will be placed on a waiting list.

*Adventureland may terminate services if policies are not followed and if fees are not paid in a timely manner.

Storm Days Policy:

If your child cannot make it to daycare due to a storm, you will not be reimbursed for the number of days closed.

Due to the clientele that we serve, Adventureland Daycare is to remain open on most storm days. Therefore, all staff are encouraged to be in at their scheduled work time. However, the center reserves the right to remain closed if the storm is severe enough to be too risky for children as well as the childcare personnel to travel.

The decision to not open the center will be made by the Director in consultation with the owner. Should the center be closed, you will be advised through the answering machine by calling 455-1863 as well as notified through the various radio stations by 5:45a.m.

If a storm should start or worsen during the day, the center may close earlier than 5:30 p.m. The decision to close early will be based on whether Fredericton City Transit removes the buses and if the College and University’s call for early closures. Parents will be notified by telephone of the closing time as soon as possible.

Should the local elementary schools cancel classes’ mid-day, it is the parent’s responsibility to notify the daycare.  The Afterschool Children will be picked up from school and brought as usual to the center.
